Roger “David” Gunstanson, 60, of Ringgold, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 and is now rejoicing in heaven.

Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Henrietta, Texas with Rev. Larry Miller pastor of the Henrietta Cowboy Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Ringgold Cemetery in Ringgold, Texas under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.

Mr. Gunstanson was born on June 12, 1953 in Kaufman County, Texas to Arnold Andrew and Jewel (Mitchell) Gunstanson. He married Sheryl Wilson on June 28, 2008 in Byers, Texas. Mr. Gunstanson was presently employed by U.R.S. Flint Energy. He was a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years. He was a member of the Henrietta Cowboy Church.

Mr. Gunstanson was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife Marlene Gunstanson;  two brothers, Herbert and Joe Gunstanson.

Survivors include his wife Sheryl Gunstanson of Ringgold, Texas; three daughters, Tracy Crew and husband David of Denton, Texas, Jenny Frederick and husband Larry of Henrietta, Texas and Ashley Morrow and husband Dustin of Springtown, Texas; one son, David Andrew Gunstanson and wife Jamie of Azle, Texas; six grandchildren, Roger Ethan Crew, Presley Crew, Holly Crew, Macie Frederick, Mallory Frederick, and Judah Morrow; two brothers, Arnold Gunstanson and wife Ruby of Athens, Texas, Rev. Harold Gunstanson and wife Martha of Princeton, Texas; three sisters, Juanita McGahan and husband James of Princeton, Texas, Coquese Brode and husband Gene of Glenrose, Texas, and Nelda Maxwell and husband Fred of Palestine, Texas; mother-in-law Shirley Wilson; sister-in-laws, Shari Rodgers and husband Steve of Byers, Texas, Darlene Gunstanson of Mabank, Texas, Diane Gunstanson of Henderson, Tennessee and Shirley Anderson-Rackley; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the and type in Hunters Heroes. This is for Hunter Jones, a young leukemia patient.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
