Zelma Walker Wright (Stembridge) passed away April 21, 2014 in Bowie TX, after suffering a stroke.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Bowie with Mona Millard and Robert Slayton officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Zelma was born to Cleveland and Lenora (Jordan) Walker on January 26, 1924 in Normangee TX. She was a rancher for many years in Bellevue, after the death of her husband Bill Wright. Later, after retiring, she lived in Bowie TX and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bowie.

She most enjoyed making hot rolls for friends and church socials. Zelma was a member of the local Bowie VFW Ladies Auxiliary and had served as officer in many different local and state positions.

She most enjoyed being a member of Shelomi #43 Daughters of the Nile in Wichita Falls, where she helped, at that time, with fund raisers in support of the Shriner Hospitals for Children. She enjoyed any endeavor that helped children to have a better live.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cleveland and Lenora (Jordan) Walker, husband Bill Wright, brothers, Norman Walker, Dewey Walker, sisters, Faye Walker freeman, Mavis Walker Sanford, Lois Walker Reynolds (Weedin).

Zelma is survived by son Donald Ray Foster and wife Judy of Washington State, daughter Kathy Wright Hammack and husband Bill of Bellevue. Grandchildren, Melodie Foster Schute and husband Mark of Colorado, Angie Foster Bland and husband Devon of Washington state, Donnie Foster Jr. and wife Annette also of Washington State. Manya Hammack Morrow and husband Mike of Perkins Okla., Bill Hammack Jr. and wife Ashley also of Perkins Okla. Nine great children, Tyler Salesberry a firefighter serving in the United States Air Force and Bradley Salesberry of Colorado, Ashlee and Emily Fritz of Washington State, Also, Megan and Morgan Morrow, Patience, Addison and Lydia Hammack all of Perkins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
